Technical Questions

What video formats are supported?

Currently, we support MP4,MOV and AVI video files. We may add support for additional formats in the future.

What is the maximum file size I can upload?

Currently, the maximum file size for the web app is 50 MB, while users uploading via the After Effects plugin can upload files up to 100 MB. These limits may change in the future, and premium users will be given priority. These limits help us maintain fast processing times and server performance.

What are the maximum dimensions for GIFs?

The maximum dimensions for GIFs are 1080×1080 pixels. If your video is larger, it will be automatically resized while preserving the aspect ratio. This ensures optimal file size and compatibility.

How long can my video be?

Strict limit is 30 seconds and we recommend keeping videos under 30 seconds for optimal GIF quality and file size. Longer videos will result in larger GIF files, which may affect loading times.

Why does my GIF come out as in a different aspect ratio even though my original video is 4096x2160?

Our converter automatically reads your video's metadata and respects its original aspect ratio. To ensure fast and efficient GIF creation (and compatibility with most browsers and platforms), we limit the maximum width or height to 1080 pixels. If you need a higher resolution GIF, feel free to contact us with your requirements!

Conversion Settings

What does the FPS setting control?

FPS (Frames Per Second) controls how smooth your GIF appears. Higher FPS values result in smoother animations but larger file sizes. Lower FPS values create smaller files but may appear less smooth.

What does the Quality setting affect?

The Quality setting affects the visual quality and file size of your GIF. Higher quality settings preserve more details and colors but result in larger files. Lower quality settings create smaller files with some loss in visual fidelity.

What does "Lock aspect ratio" do?

When enabled, the "Lock aspect ratio" option ensures that your GIF maintains the same width-to-height ratio as the original video. This prevents distortion when resizing. When you change either the width or height, the other dimension will automatically adjust to maintain the correct proportions.
